Here's a step by step visual aide to help you turn a VW Solar Panel that can be bought from ebay and turn it in to a universal charger to keep your cars battery from going dead when sitting for periods of time, or if your like me, too many car adapters charging your stuff when I'm away and the car is off. The solar panel is made by ICP, a world renowned solar panel maker. The nice thing about this VW solar panel costs cheap (about + another for additional supplies), but if purcahsed from ICP's web site would cost about -5. I hope this helps, I have three of these solar panels and use them on our families cars... Note when using in your car, make sure the cigarette adapter has power to it when the car is off and the key is not in the ignition. Sometimes referred to as a power supply socket, the plug must be attached to the battery, and not disconnected when the car/vehicle is off. If you don't have such an option or don't want to wire one in or use you only power supply for this, you can hard wire the solar pannel into the fuse box, and or directly to the battery. BUT, there must be sometype of switch/switching mechanism to disconnect the solar panel feed once the car starts and remains running, otherwise you risk damaging/ruining the solar panel and it's parts...
